Mutiara Islam - Friend, the idol meilih we must be very careful. We must choose the figure that really deserve to be an idol. Do not let us choose idol who has behavior and bad character. And do anyway we idolize people who only pursue worldly pleasures and indulgence in lust, and do not also we idolize people who simply pursue fame and good name alone, but actually they are just hypocrites, who looked good and noble in public but despicable and immoral in their quiet and solitude.
Friend, do not sekli times we idolize someone based on the physical beauty, fame, wealth, or because of the position and the position alone. If we idolize someone just based on these four things, then be prepared us to be deceived and disappointed. Because these four are just transitory and temporary. Physical beauty will fade with age, the popularity will fade with the passage of time, wealth could be gone in the blink of the eye, and the position or the position will end if the people no longer wanted him. Then why do we have to mengagung-agungkannya?
Realize that the people that we must make an idol on the top position is the Prophet Muhammad, and the prophets, the companions, the tabi'in, the clergy, and the people are good or outstanding is around us. They were what we deserve made idol, for worship, achievement, good deeds and noble character they showed. They are the ones that we should make an example and can learn from. We should idolize someone on the basis of its quality and competence and not on the basis of its popularity and prestige. With regard to who should we make an idol and role model, the Qur'an gives an overview and qualifications, by stating:
لقد كان لكم في رسول الله أسوة حسنة لمن كان يرجوا الله و اليوم الآخر و ذكر الله كثيرا
"Ye have indeed in the (self) that the Messenger of Allah a good role model for you, (that) for people who expect (grace) of God and the (arrival) Day of Resurrection and Allah much." (QS. Al-Ahzab: 21)
In another verse of the Qur'an also asserts:
أولئك الذين هدى الله فبهداهم اقتده
"They are the ones who have been guided by Allah, then follow their instructions." (QS. Al-An'am: 90)
In another verse Allah states:
واتبع سبيل من أناب إلي ثم إلي مرجعكم فأنبئكم بما كنتم تعملون
"And follow the path of people who come back to me, and then only to receive from me return, the Ku- tell you of what you did." (QS. Luqman: 15)
Bacaislam companions who dimulyakan Allah, the three paragraphs above suggests to us that only those who excel as well as close to God and receive His Hidayah, why should we make an idol. Because they are the ones who are always under the guidance of Allah, they always do good deeds and beneficial to himself and others, they are capable of achievement is good and beautiful in life, they always keep away from bad deeds and things that harm others, and they were always doing worship and good deeds sincerely, purely for Allah. They are the "The Real Idol" who deserve to make our idol.
